100 % collagen hydrolysate granulated and without additives.
Collagen hydrolysate is said to have a positive effect on chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Lunderland collagen is a powder made from 100 % pork rinds. It comes from food production and meets the requirements for edible gelatine.
The molecular weight is 3 kDa. If you want to compare the quality of different collagen powders, you should keep an eye on this value.
The amino acids contained in collagen hydrolysate are natural components of bones, cartilage, skin and hair. In Lunderland collagen, these amino acids are present in a bioavailable form and can therefore be easily absorbed by the animal and incorporated into the body structures mentioned.
Various scientific studies have been conducted on this in the past, some of which can be found on the Internet. As part of her dissertation at the Institute of Animal Nutrition at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover, Nina Weide investigated the effect of gelatine hydrolysate (= collagen hydrolysate) when fed to dogs with chronic musculoskeletal disorders and concluded that the degree of lameness (e.g. discomfort when standing up and walking upstairs) in dogs with chronic joint diseases decreased significantly when they were given the collagen.
Analytical constituents:
Protein: 91 %
Recommended use:
The recommended amount of pure Lunderland Collagen for dogs and cats is 1 g / 5 kg body weight per day. One teaspoon contains approx. 3 g.
The collagen can simply be added to the moist food (raw meat or canned meat). If you feed your pet dry, Lunderland recommends moistening the food and then sprinkling it with the collagen. You can also powder the powder thinly over the drinking water, let it sink in and stir after about 10 minutes. It has then dissolved and no longer clumps.
Lunderland recommends mixing the collagen with a natural vitamin C carrier (e.g., rosehip powder), whereby the ratio of collagen hydrolysate to rosehip powder should be at least 2:1.
The combination with Lunderland green-lipped mussel powder is also ideal for supporting the joint apparatus.
As with many feed supplements, the effect usually only sets in after some time of ingestion.
Feeding and storage:
Simply mix collagen into the regular basic feed. Please store away from light, not above room temperature, in a tightly closed Container.
